From the set up of the pods to their appearances at conventions to their relationship with Catalyst Game Labs. MekTek Development even gets talked about some. HERE is the interview.

So you want to upgrade your old 486 DX2 66 for the inevitable release of AT1 (No fanboy it's not available yet!) but you dont want to spend a couple thousand C-Bills on the latest in Lostech (so I'm a fanboy too, sue me). Check out Tom's for the numbers and pretty graphs.
It's a few days old, but with any luck the information is still somewhat current.

Quantum Processing One Step Closer

Saw this at Science Daily:
A team led by Yale University researchers has created the first rudimentary solid-state quantum processor, taking another step toward the ultimate dream of building a quantum computer. They also used the two-qubit superconducting chip to successfully run elementary algorithms, such as a simple search, demonstrating quantum information processing with a solid-state device for the first time. Their findings will appear in Nature's advanced online publication June 28.
"Our processor can perform only a few very simple quantum tasks, which have been demonstrated before with single nuclei, atoms and photons," said Robert Schoelkopf, the William A. Norton Professor of Applied Physics & Physics at Yale. "But this is the first time they've been possible in an all-electronic device that looks and feels much more like a regular microprocessor."

Unseen mechs return! Unseen mechs return!
Well folks the rumor of a major announcement from Catalyst Game Labs is here from Origins and boy is it a big one! The Unseen mechs are returning to BattleTech (and that includes everyone's favorite Warhammer, Marauder, all the Unseens, everyone single last one!).
In 1996 numerous images originally licensed from several Japanese anime sources were retired from use within the BattleTech universe. Those illustrations formed the bedrock of the BattleTech 2nd Edition and BattleTech 3rd Edition Box Sets and were generally considered “fan favorites” across the board. These images—such as the Warhammer, Marauder, BattleMaster, Phoenix Hawk and so on—became known as the “unseen.”
After much blood, sweat and tears, Catalyst Game Labs is exceptionally pleased to announce the return of these “unseen” images.

As most of you hopefully know Origins is one of the biggest gaming conventions out there. In addition to a rather big announcement from the Catalyst crew about Battletech, Virtual World Enertainment will have Twelve Battletech Pods at this years convention. So if you anywhere near Columbus Ohio between the 24th and 28th of this month you should give them a visit. I don't think you will regret it.

Pictures from Invasion

Well folks Invasion was awesome. Thanks to all of our fans that came out to meet us. MekTek was heavily involved in the bootstrap event leading up to public day on Saturday. If you missed invasion then you missed an opportunity to meet myself, WhiteFeather, and Supermike. We will likely attend another event in the future so there will such an opportunity again We gave away more than 100 mouse pads, pens, and posters to the general public which we hope everyone is happy with.
Invasion was focused around a massive dev event where both myself and WhiteFeather worked directly with pod owners, VWE, and the original MW4: Firestorm developer (Firestorm). It was great to finally meet some of the current pod owners and hear what they would like to see in newer versions of MW4. We also had an opportunity to see the latest build of Red Planet running - yay it really does exist.
At the event we demo'd both MP4 and AT1:BT on Saturday to a small crowd of die hard MW fans and reviews appeared to be good on both fronts. Some features seen in MP4 will find themselves in MW4: Firestorm and the Tesla Pods. If you are interested in picking up a poster or other MekTek swag you may have an opportunity to do so if you attend Origins (8 days away in Columbus, Ohio) or Gencon in August where pods will be setup by VWE.
We've posted some pictures taken during Invasion on our Gallery - which includes pictures at Invasion and some MekTek shots from Michigan AirZoo, and Lake Michigan.
Finally we'd like to recognize Propwash and his family for inviting us out to Invasion on behalf of VWE and letting us crash at their home during the event. We had a great time in Kalamazoo and look forward to many more visits.

Invasion '09

Yesterday brought about the end of yet another successful invasion. This year saw one of the largest gatherings in recent years as well as a development boot camp. Accomplishing everything from adding new 'Mechs to prototyping a replacement for the old style fluorescent "Tesla Coils" with a new, more durable, LED version.
Most of the attendees of this year's Invasion departed for home throughout the day Sunday, with a few poor souls, VAM amongst them, heading to the airport around 3:00 am this morning. As I type this, Whitefeather, Firestorm, and myself are preparing to depart ourselves.
Lastly, I with to thank Mr. and Mrs. Propwash and Prop Jr. for their hospitality, once again going above and beyond to share their home with all of us attending.
I can't wait for next year!
Pictures...
 Camera ship.
Full size model of a small laser.
Not a full size model of a Madcat. This was one of three such models made and distributed to Battletech centers around the country.
Velocity = Victory, unless you are in a Screaming Broccoli, then smearing the runner all over the inside of an Easy Bake on a triple triple = Victory.
